Monotheism and Polytheism Reconciled

Part-15.

That experience is peace, that experience is unutterable bliss, that experience is silence—a depth of silence where no articulate words are possible.

For that experience this rare gift of the human status has been given.

That is what makes it the most supreme of all gifts in spite of all things that may seem to be the contrary of peace and bliss.

It is what makes the supreme gift of our human status unparalleled in value.


Knowing this to be so, may we apply ourselves with all earnestness, with total sincerity, with humility and determination.

May we apply ourselves to making the highest and best use of this status, and thus putting it to the highest use attain the highest joy.


May this be the quest, and may full success be granted.

May the quest cease to be, and may the experience absolute prevail in all its fullness at all times.

To be established ever in that great experience is the vision of the ancients of this country, where God-realisation was declared to be the highest of all goals of humanity.

Personal Life & Legacy : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel tied the knot at the age of 18, to Jhaverba, who was twelve years of age then. The greatest Bhakta is—not one who goes on rolling the beads, with selfishness, lust, anger and greed enshrined in his heart but—one who is endowed with all auspicious qualities, and who is devoted to the welfare of humanity. Lord Krishna does not define Jnana as scriptural erudition or an intellectual appreciation of philosophic truths or the capacity and cleverness to string words together and to indulge in vain debating. He defines Jnana as the sum total of the best of virtues. Read the thirteenth Chapter of the Bhagavadgita, you will understand this clearly. The Lord says: watch for these qualities in a man. If they are present, he is a Jnani, a saint; you can safely follow him and adopt him as your spiritual guide. In 1949, opening a cupboard, the Master’s attendant found a bedsheet bitten by a rat, and inside the sheet were four of its newborns. They had hardly opened their eyes. He took them to the Master. When the Master saw the baby rats, his heart was flooded with compassion. He felt greatly pained that they should have been disturbed. He asked the attendant to put them back immediately in the same place and condition, lest their mother should miss them. This was done. But in a day or two, the mother rat got killed by a cat. Soon after, the little ones also died. When the Master saw the dead rats, he felt sad and did Maha Mantra Kirtan for a pretty long time for the peace of the departed souls. His attendant also joined him in the Kirtan. The Master fed ants with sugar, birds with rice, monkeys with gram, fish with bread. He kept water in pots for birds.
